Android 2.2 will have complete support for Adobe Flash

You read that correct! Google isn’t Apple. They have happily announced that Android will support Adobe Flash thus opening doors for customers who live on Adobe Flash.

Recently, Google has been trying hard to push Android to every possible mobile and the support for Adobe Flash is surely an add-on for Android’s success. Back in November 2008, flash for Google’s Android was successfully demonstrated on T-Mobile G1 and since then Android lovers were dying to watch their favourite open source mobile platform to include their favourite flash player. Well, the wait is over!
VP of engineering for Google, Andy Rubin, announced this catchy  new feature of Android 2.2 in an interview with New York Times though he didn’t disclose the exact launch date for the same. Smart, eh! Somehow Google has again spilled beans regarding Adobe Flash in Android and created the uneasiness in the hearts of Android lovers by not announcing its launch date. Now the guessing will start, discussions will start, pleadings will start and Internet will be filled with this news. Enough for Google to create the necessary market to launch Android 2.2 (somewhere in May/June, maybe!)
As to when the number of Android phones sold would exceed the number of BlackBerrys and iPhones sold, Mr. Rubin said, “I don’t know when its might be, but I’m confident it will happen. Open usually wins.” As of now Android runs on around 9 percent of Smartphones in the United States as per a survey by Comscore.
